Hey People,
Today I want to share a story with you all.
A story that I saw in my own home.
A story that we all have lived in our childhood, and now we have given up!
A story we still believe somewhere in the back of our hearts :)
So let’s get started!
My elder sister comes to our home every morning. To drop off her 3 year old son Krishna to sleep (He would have been in kindergarten now. But due to pandemic, he’ll join school in April).
She comes around 10 am. Gets him ready. Gets herself ready. Leaves around 12 noon.
One morning, from outside of our home, we could hear Krishna crying out loud.
Sis was scolding him.
He was crying.
I wasn’t even in the living room!
I was in my room.
And I could still hear that!
Amidst that chatter and endless crying, her Mom kept shouting, “Stop crying!”
Do you know what Krishna replied?
“But first, you smile!”
In his tears.
While he wasn’t his best self.
He wanted his Mom to smile.
That is what we all are looking for always, reasons to make others smile.
Their smile is a reason for us to smile.
And if they don’t smile, the world has taught us to think that we are responsible for that.
Of course we are not!
But we do want others to smile! At least as a kid we wanted to:)
As we grew up, we forgot our basic nature.
We were taught to focus on studies.
We were taught to get ahead in the race.
We were taught to struggle for money.
Happiness and making others happy? That we may see.
That is the reason kids are happiest.
Because they focus on happiness.
They can’t exist without being happy.
And won’t let others exist without being happy.
Today, be a kid!
And stop fitting in :)
And if you want to, reply to this email and let me know, what is the one thing you would do to be a kid? I’d love to learn from you!
Till next Monday,
LOL (Loads of love)
Nishtha
